The grand chariot festival of Lord Jagannath celebrated with massive processions in Puri and worldwide.

Traditions:

Pulling giant wooden chariots carrying deities through the streets
Offering prayers and seeking darshan (viewing) of Lord Jagannath during the procession
Distributing prasad (sacred food) to thousands of devotees

The three chariots for Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra are rebuilt every year using specific types of wood.
