The PST to IST shift worker reality

Working the PST overlap from India will destroy your soul. I'm serious.
EST is bad enough, but PST is a 13.5 hour difference. It is literally flipped. When San Francisco is waking up at 8 AM and drinking their overpriced matcha, it's 9:30 PM in Hyderabad.
You can't have a normal overlap. You just can't.
If you work for a Silicon Valley startup from India, you're a night walker. You sleep from 4 AM to noon. You eat dinner at 2 in the morning. Your body stops producing whatever chemical makes you feel human during the day.
I had a buddy working for a big tech firm in California. His core hours were 10 PM to 6 AM IST. He lost 14 pounds in two months just because his stomach couldn't figure out when it was supposed to digest food.
You have to enforce async work. Companies that force Indian devs to attend mid-day PST meetings are toxic. If you want the talent, you review the pull requests async. You record video updates. You don't make a guy sit under fluorescent lights at 3 AM just so he can watch a screen share of an agile board.
